Burning Hot Interview featuring Xiån Austin [3pac] & Mike Lee of Goth Brooks
Arizona’s own Goth Brooks is a band that defies easy classification. Its members, Mike Lee, Chris “3pac” Austin, and the late Jonah “Werm” Foree each represent different genres they individually bring to the group: country, hip-hop, and metal. The group’s sound, though, stretches each of those genres to their limits, melding country, Western swing, rockabilly, industrial metal, death metal, hardcore, and gangster rap, among still more, into a sound that is fun and wholly original.
The band made a very brief appearance on America’s Got Talent when auditioning in 2018. According to a Facebook comment made by Foree, “We only got flashed for like 2 seconds… It was weird, because the filming crew literally pulled us aside, out of the long line, and spent over an hour filming us doing different things. But in the end, the producers put us on the cutting room floor… The tryout & trip to Vegas was still a blast though!”
The Christmas in Black EP was released in August of 2021. Following the tragic passing of Foree, Goth Brooks released their second studio album Freakabilly on May 19. Just like their previous releases, the 13-track album is available to download from their website for free. It is also available to stream on Spotify in a 9-track form.
Los Angeles-based producer Daniel Graves has been turning heads with his addictive industrial pop project, Aesthetic Perfection, for nearly two decades. Since forming in 2000, Graves has released five full-length albums, numerous singles and music videos, all the while reinventing what it means to be a dark electro artist. Blending industrial, pop, goth, and everything in between, Aesthetic Perfection defies definitions in a world that demands them.
Today marks the release of the visually stunning and eccentric new music video for “Gods & Gold“, an instantly gripping industrial pop crossover anthem with an unforgettable hook that listeners will be humming for days. The track features scorching guitars by the inimitable Richard Z. Kruspe of Rammstein, who adds an extra aggressive punch to the tune. Watch the deliciously avant garde video now via Alternative PressHERE.
Aesthetic Perfection mastermind Daniel Graves says about “Gods & Gold“: “Gods & Gold was a very challenging song for us to work on. I really wanted to push the envelope here and try something new. We’d been tinkering with it for quite some time and it was just coming up short. Once our friend Richard Kruspe expressed interest in playing on the record, I instantly knew he was the missing puzzle piece. I didn’t even realize I’d had his playing style and vibe in mind when I was writing the track until that very second. Then BOOM, just like magic it all came together. It instantly became our favorite song and obvious choice for the first track on the album. Of course, we’re all enormous Rammstein fans and honored to finally work with Richard in a professional capacity.”
“Gods & Gold” is cut from Aesthetic Perfection‘s fifth and latest studio album, Into The Black, which hit stores everywhere on March 29 via Close to Human Music. Featuring an all-star cast of collaborators such as the aforementioned Richard Z. Kruspe, Jinxx of Black Veil Brides, Mick Kenney of Anaal Nathrakh and Krischan Wesenberg of Rotersand, Into The Black is the most mature Aesthetic Perfection album to date. Fans can order Into The Black and “Gods & Gold” now via Apple Music, Amazon and Bandcamp. Physical editions and merch are available HERE, and the album can be streamed via Spotify.
Into The Black features acclaimed drummer Joe Letz, recognized for his work with artists such as Emigrate (also featuring Richard Z. Kruspe), Combichrist, Wednesday 13, Genitorturers and several other top heavy music artists.
Dark and gritty, yet undeniably catchy and melodic, Into The Black builds upon the band’s past while solidly keeping its eyes focused on the future. From the haunting electronic melodies of “Supernatural” to the twangy guitars of “Echoes“, from the punch-to-the-gut beat of “No Boys Allowed” to the soaring highs of “Mourning Doves“, Daniel Graves takes the transgressive art form known as industrial pop to the next level.
Aesthetic Perfection will head out on a full North American headline tour beginning September 6, 2019 in San Diego, CA. The tour will feature support artist Empathy Test and will visit over a month’s-worth of cities, coming to a close in Los Angeles, CA on October 19. PHOENIX — Burning Hot Events brought back our horribly delightful photo booth to the 2nd annual SINister: A Sexy Fetish Party (21 +) at Joe’s Grotto, featuring two stages of entertainment including live bands, sideshow, burlesque & more. As always, the rambunctious crowd from the goth & fetish community were eager to pose for the camera!

Scottsdale, AZ – For 9 out of 10 years strong, a very special show has been held annually at Pub Rock – a venue formerly named Chasers Bar. A staple in the Industrial/Gothic community, Mustache Massacre is an event that brings together both new and well-known faces alike, for a night that reminds us not to take ourselves too seriously. It’s a free concert with one caveat… you’re only getting in free if you have a mustache.
“Grow it, glue it, draw it, clip it, tape it, make it…So, trim your sister’s armpit hair, shave a dead muskrat, or steal the president’s toupee. ‘Cuz we don’t care where you get the hair, as long as it’s there!…CAN YOUR FACE HANDLE IT?!!!”
The 10th Annual Mustache Massacre (& Wa’s 40th Birthday Bash) featured entertainment by Ikonoklast, 80*D, Goth Brooks, Camel Enamel, Family Secret, and DJs //SHE// & Zander. With these 5 bands bringing industrial, goth, punk, metal, and even a little bit country, 2 DJs, a crowd of characters that weren’t afraid to dance and mosh, a photo booth run by Burning Hot Events, and even a mustache contest, it made for a long, hard, and nutty night.
“Get yo’ bad-ass mo’-fro’ pho-togged to show your grand kids what a freakin’ weirdo you were!”
Check out all of the shots from the photo booth HERE!
Mustache Rules:
Must be hands-free (attached to your face somehow)
No finger mustaches! (drawing on finger and placing to face)
5 o’clock shadow does not count (add some roughage to that stubble!)
The more outrageous, the better! (get creative, there is a contest!)
PHOENIX — With two stages to alternate between, Joe’s Grotto music venue has always been a favorite local spot for deliciously gritty punk & metal shows, and unusual performances. This made it an obvious venue of choice for a “sexy fetish party” like SINister – calling out for Phoenix fans to rock out as their wildest, freaky selves. Amongst murky shadows of dimly lit stages and strobing rainbow LEDs, a true sense of community could be felt as this unique local scene came together to support a myriad of eye-catching, emerging artists.
Lucky for you, Burning Hot Events was on the scene to capture fans and performers alike. Our photo booth was hosted by our event photographer London Snow, who donned her very best sexy maid outfit — complete with a matching wig and frosty makeup perfection.
Organized as a birthday celebration for Ikonoklast vocalist, Jonah Foree, the night boasted a hard-hitting lineup including musical acts on the main stage like Scar Eater, Amensic, S.L.U.T. (Satanic League of Underground Techno), and of course Ikonoklast. Agents of LUST heated things up during the sets of both S.L.U.T. and Ikonoklast, sending arches of electrified metal sparks onto the dancers and into the crowd below.
The party also featured DJ Beautiful John, live body painting by El Spawk, and burlesque & fetish performances by Pain Proof Punks on the second stage. The performers on the second stage included Little Jae Sinclair, Lexi Locket, Katara Fox, Crystal Frost, Dr. Copperchops, Miss Wonderland, and Luna Sky.
