Los Angeles-based five-piece The Crown Remnant recently announced the upcoming release of latest conceptual opus, The Wicked King: Part II, available for pre-order now via Amazon, iTunes, Google Play and Bandcamp. Pre-orders are available with “Inferno” as an instant-grat download. You can also pre-save the album via SpotifyHERE. The Wicked King: Part II, takes the listener on a dramatic, energetic joyride from start to finish!
Today, The Crown Remnant have revealed a brand new guitar playthrough video for their latest single, “Inferno“. Watch the video, featuring the skills of guitarist Will Ash, now alongside an interview via PureGrainAudio.com‘s Geared Up HERE.
Will Ash tells PureGrainAudio.com: “We’re lucky to have the opportunity to record with some amazing gear. This latest record, Part II, and The Wicked King: Part I were both recorded with a blend of amazing guitars and amps including a Mesa Mark IV, Peavey 5150 (block letter), and more. Of the three main guitars used to track the record, this Schecter Hellraiser was my main lead guitar.”
You can now watch two additional new videos from The Crown Remnant, including a live footage music video for “Inferno“, as well as part one of the band’s behind-the-scenes track-by-track video series, detailing the album’s intro track, “Into the Depths“.
The Crown Remnant have mastered the art of melodic, theatrical, yet hard-hitting heavy metal, and the world is about to take notice. Combining a variety of metallic influences ranging from modern metalcore and prog, thrash and more, The Wicked King: Part II acts as the second part of the band’s previous release, The Wicked King: Part I. Within the first month of its release, The Crown Remnant garnered over 10,000 streams of their first single cut from The Wicked King: Part I, entitled “Haunted“. The band plans to follow suit and beyond with The Wicked King: Part II.
The Wicked King: Part II is loosely based on thematic concepts of oppression and tyranny. Originally recorded as one long album, the band decided to split it into two releases – with The Wicked King: Part II acting as the “darker” side of the two. Part II addresses tales of betrayal, mortality, exploring the afterlife and more. Intertwined within these ideals are scattered lyrics pertaining to the character designed on the front cover of the album: The Wicked King. He remains an everlasting shadow of a forgotten king set on immortality, with his insatiable lust for never-ending life.
The Wicked King: Part IIwas recorded in multiple studios throughout Southern California, with the help of S&W Audio, and producer/engineer Tyler Ruehl (Noble, At The Skylines, Taipan, Lion I Am). After a rigorous tracking process, the songs were mixed by Robin Leijon (In Dying Arms, Atena, Eternal Void).
The Crown Remnant will hit this road this winter for select tour dates! See below for a list of all confirmed tour stops.

This video is so psychedelic, it will leave you with the munchies! Deranged vocalist Ronald Osbourne says: “Mac Sabbath ‘meats’ marionettes! There will be blood!“
The “Sweet Beef” video concept was created by Mac Sabbath, Michael Serwich and Matt Scott, with maroniettes managed by Matt Scott and Rasputin’s Marionettes and editing and effects by Joe Seafus.
The most impressive-and terrifying-thing about Mac Sabbath is that they’re actually really good. Ronald channels his inner Ozzy onstage, from the manic jumping to the frantic hand waving…” – Bryan Rolli, Paste Magazine

“… one of the most interesting bands to come around in a long, long time. They have Dead Kennedys’ outrageous sense of humor mixed with total irreverence and ornate style on top of a solid, engaging performance (even if the crowd is reluctant to respond). So while this whole thing was probably thought up after eating too many pot brownies, it is one of the most brilliant ideas in a long time.” – Troy Farah, Phoenix New Times
About Mac Sabbath
Mixing raucous comedy with borderline-horrific theatrics, the only thing more petrifying than impending health problems resulting from years of overeating is a Mac Sabbath show. Show attendees should be prepared to partake in the fun – Mac Sabbath puts on a theatrical, multimedia stage show – complete with a smoking grill, laser-eyed clowns, bouncing burgers and many more magical surprises… basically anything and everything an unwary show-goer could ever want in their wildest dreams. Named by Buzzfeed as one of the “13 Metal Bands You Didn’t Know How to React To” + Named as LA’s “Best Tribute Band” by LA Weekly.
“This is not a drill. Be it exchanging Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid” for a “Pair-a-buns” or “Iron Man” for a “Frying Pan,” these food-focused musical dweebs are cooking up something hot ‘n’ ready just for you.” – Alicia Lutes, MTV.com
“Even if the songs are dripping with onions and extra cheese, Mac Sabbath put on one righteous stage show, complete with smoke machines, gritty power chords, and endless head-banging.” – Chris Coplan, ConsequenceofSound.net
Technical metal icons Gorod have released their brand new 10-track album, Aethra, today via Overpowered Records! The album can be ordered digitally via Amazon, iTunes and Google Play, and in several physical formats via Overpowered Records‘ merchandise site HERE.
In celebration of today’s release, Gorod have revealed an epic, cinematic music video for the track “Bekhten’s Curse”, produced by Disclosure Productions and available to view now via RevolverHERE.
Vocalist Julien Deyres tells Revolver: “Out of all of the songs on the album, these lyrics required the most research. I am not at all a specialist in Egyptian antiquity, but in doing my research on lunar deities I discovered this extraordinary story about a so-called miraculous healing of Ramesses II‘s sister-in-law. This legend is engraved on a stela that is currently in the Louvre Museum and is a proven historical fake. In this song, I am playing the role of a Bekhten’s city survivor, which was completely destroyed to restore a form of eventual reality… because way too often, popular legends such as this one were created to hide misdeeds by those who have the power and wish to be considered as heroes…”
Produced and recorded by Gorod guitarist/mastermind Mathieu Pascal in his own Bud Studio, mixed at Dugout Studio by the outstanding Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, Behemoth, Decapitated, In Flames) and mastered by Lawrence Mackrory at Obey Mastering (Decapitated, Nightrage), Aethrais a profound progression in terms of production, songwriting and arrangements.
With Aethra, Gorod transports the listener to a tragic and melancholic universe – a completely new level of darkness – while preserving what Gorod considers their tried and true core sound: incomparable groove, remarkable dexterity, and relentless technicality. But all the while, the band never sacrifices earworm hooks and unforgettable riffage.

American Singer/Song-writer Joe Settineri has released the official music video for his deeply moving new single, “Batman Cries.” Originally premiered on CelebMix, “Batman Cries” was directed by Jared Cordes.
“The new video for Batman Cries explores the inner superhero in us all — the strong, inner-spirit that fights for us and keeps us moving, dreaming, and striving. It’s about the eventuality that even our strongest self needs to be reassured, lifted up, and cheered on. It’s about being down – seriously down – with seemingly no way up and finding that inner strength to go forth. When a superhero is down, it tears us apart, but when that superhero is us, it’s a matter of life and death.” – Joe Settineri
“In terms of musicality, “Batman Cries” is a powerful single and Settineri has been able to convey his emotions well. The sincerity that one finds in his lyrics is also visible in his vocals and the music video. The music video is an addition to the conversation around embracing one’s self and Settineri’s song is an interesting take on the concept.” – CelebMix
Originally from the mid-west, Los Angeles based singer songwriter Joe Settineri was a late bloomer. After the music world wooed him away from a finance career, and years spent being one of a handful of go-to singers in Los Angeles, Settineri established himself as an exceptional singer-songwriter in 2009 with his widely praised first studio album, Stay (LML Records). His second full studio album, Beyond Your Control, was released 2014 and followed up by his most recent EP, Be The One in 2017.
Joe’s newest singles, “Hello Goodbye,” “Batman Cries,” and “Oxygen,” all collaborations with multi-platinum Nashville-based producer Mike Krompass (Smash Mouth, Nellie Furtado), are slated for release in Summer and Fall 2018.
Joe lives in Los Angeles with his husband and two children.
UK-based progressive rockers Francesco Fonte Band have released a new music video for “Universe Garden“, the third song from their new album Eight. The music video features black and white cinematography following a young woman in her journey of the “Universe Garden“. The video was shot by Torturett Photography in Hampstead Heath, London. Watch the new video HERE.
“The mercurial FRANCESCO FONTE BAND (IT/UK) – imagine Prince, the[sic] Nine Inch Nails, Suede and Pink Floyd all collapsing into an absinthe-induced cloud of beauty and melancholy and throw in a brutally powerful rock backbone. Unforgettable and unfathomable.” – Howlin’ Anton Bleak
Francesco Fonte Band formed in the UK in 2011. Previous releases were debut album Blue Omens (2011) and the EP Arousal Addiction (2013). Both records were reviewed by many webzines and magazines all over the EU. The band also achieved numerous airplays from radio stations (K2KRadio, VirginRock, ClassicRock and Bcfm-Bristol). The new album Eight was released via NMTCG records.

Just over one week ago, iconic rockers OTEP unleashed their most uncompromising, candid, all-inclusive and controversial assessment of the current residing political regime that they have ever released – the new album Kult 45. Today, they have released a shocking new music video – pointing a finger at the NRA and their allowance of continued gun violence – for the single “Shelter In Place”. The video, directed by OTEP and filmed by PR Brown, can be viewed now, here:
Otep Shamaya says, “The video for “Shelter In Place” challenges the NRA’s irrational claim that “only a good guy with a gun can stop a bad guy with a gun”. It aims the blame of mass murders of our children in school shootings directly on the NRA, not necessarily its members, but the administration who continue to fight for people on Terrorist Watch Lists to own a gun. Why? It’s my belief the more murders that occur, the more money they make from weapons manufacturers and increases in membership which strengthens their ability to be a political power that continues to frighten the Republican owned Congress.
Photography by PR Brown
The number of mass murders of children in schools by gun violence is our national shame yet the Republican owned Congress (and shills for the NRA) have done nothing, not a single thing, to protect our kids. In contrast, when ONE man attempted to detonate a shoe bomb on board a plane in flight, legislation was enacted to protect people from this SINGLE attempt of failed terrorism. Now all of us have to remove our shoes before boarding a flight. All of us have to be searched and x-rayed. The NRA may have begun as an advocacy group for the Second Amendment but it’s my belief they have regressed into something akin to a homegrown terrorist organization that benefits from mass murders both financially and as a political power. This is completely unacceptable. Enough is enough. Our children deserve better. And their safety and the safety of their teachers are worth fighting for.”

“Kult 45 sees OTEP at their controversial best, assessing and tackling the issues swimming around the political pool party that currently harbours their capital.” – Metal Wani
Throughout the span of her career, Otep Shamaya has been an undeniable force in bringing awareness via various acclaimed mediums to the social and political injustices felt by various communities and subcultures. For years, publications such as Revolver Magazine have lauded Shamaya for “following in the footsteps of outspoken musicians from folk singer Woody Guthrie to Rage Against The Machine‘s Zach de la Rocha”, dubbing her “one of music’s catalysts for social change”. So, with the political climate as it is today, now it’s the perfect time to impact with Kult 45.
“Protest music is alive on well on Otep Shamaya’s new bible for dissenters.” – Alternative Press
Kult 45 was recorded at The Lair in Los Angeles, completely utilizing the same equipment used for OTEP‘s first album, Sevas Tra (down to Shamaya’s vocal microphone, a SHURE Beta 58), in order to create a sound reminiscent of their roots. Kult 45 was self-produced by Otep Shamaya and Aristotle, with assistant engineering from Larry Goetz, Nicolas Schilke and Lizzy Ostro.
OTEP does not hold back on Kult 45, pointing out all sorts of political duplicities and leaving them in their wake. The band explodes on aggressive, adamant anthems like “Halt Right” and “Molotov”, which act as timely outcries against the recent resurgence of hate groups.Tracks like the in-your-face “Cross Contamination” explore the hypocrisy of the evangelical right giving Trump a pass on his infidelities, and cherry-picking scriptures to fit their ideologies. “Invisible People” approaches immigration issues while pointing a strong finger at Trump, the electronically-charged “Boss” aims to break, fight, and redefine gender roles, “Shelter In Place” investigates the topic of school shootings, and “Trigger Warning” targets rape culture – specifically Stanford rapist Brock Turner -with a vengeance.
“[OTEP] is a powerful voice for civil rights, for people of color, for the LGBTQ community, for the working class, for animal rights.” – Reading Eagle
One of the last tracks on the album is a true-to-form cover of “Wake Up” – an homage to political music icons, major Kult 45 writing inspirations, and original track recording artists Rage Against The Machine. The album closes with the bonus track “The Tribe Speaks”, featuring recorded voicemails from fans expressing how OTEP‘s music has changed their lives. Shamaya says the voicemails are truly moving and keep her fighting as an artist and activist.
“OTEP‘s message is one that needs to be heard.” – Jamestown Post-Journal

Southern Florida’s LiveKill recently announced the release of their upcoming EP, entitled Turned to Grey, out September 28, 2018 via SWOL Records.LiveKill performs an intense, high-energy blend of alternative metal and hardcore styles with deep lyrical messages about the fragility of life itself. Turned to Grey is available for pre-order now via Amazon, iTunes, and Google Play. The EP will also be available to stream via Apple Music and Spotify upon release.
As a follow up to the release of their first single and title track, “Turned To Grey”, via lyric video (which in under a month has garnered over 120,000 streams/views via Facebook alone),LiveKill is pleased to reveal their second single, “In This Moment”, and its music video, directed by Alex Morgan (Whitechapel, Gojira, Bad Wolves). Check out the music video now via Metal Wani.
Guitarist John Snell says, “I had rented a pretty amazing white wall studio full of everything we needed to make a great video. On the day we were supposed to film the video, the owner of the studio told us that he had rented the studio to someone else that day! So, I made a few phone calls and literally within 30 minutes, I was able to secure a new location. We walked through the space and found a section with metal framing that had not been completed, and right then Carlos our vocalist came to me and said, “you know this is pretty badass because the song is about being trapped in your mind, feeling trapped with nowhere to go”. The framing gave off a feeling of being in a cell, which really brought out the conceptual meaning behind the song.
I reached out to Alex Morgan to do this video because of his great work with Daath, Chimairaand Gojira and his extensive knowledge in the world of metal music. We are looking forward to hopefully working on our next video with him! He really made this fun and brought out a great live performance in us.”
Featuring top-tier production and a world-class pummeling from seasoned drummer Kevin Talley (Daath, Chimaira, Suffocation) on the EP itself, LiveKill also features Carlos Guerreros on vocals, Sean Young on lead guitar, John Snell on rhythm guitar, Anthony Laurella on live drums (and in the “In This Moment” video), and Gil Giberga on bass.
For Turned to Grey, the band brought on Alastair Sims of MOTTO Sound (Rush, Three Days Grace) to mix and master the EP, which took place at Villa Studios in Canada. Further building upon the intensity, passion and professionalism of Turned to Grey, LiveKillsought the creative talents of artist Eliran Kantor, recognized for his work on album covers for Testament, Soulfly, and Sodom. Livekill and Eliran worked over a period of five months to complete the vision of guitarist John Snell to capture the concept of how fleeting life is. The art was inspired by the imagery, stories and grief of people who lost their lives in a flash of light – so quickly that they were “Turned to Grey” while leaving their last moment’s impression.
The main inspiration behind the art and EP concept is the lives lost in Hiroshima and more specifically, the story of Shinichi Tetsutani, a three year old boy who lost his life in the atomic bomb strike there. His father buried Shinichi and his tricycle in the backyard, and 40 years later in 1985, dug up his son along with the tricycle, had him properly buried, and donated the tricycle to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. Basing some concepts of the EP on this story was not intended to highlight war itself, but rather that any one of us, in a moment so quick, can be nothing more than an imprint left behind.
Intense New EP, Turned to Grey, out September 28, 2018
