French Deathcore Heavyweights Betraying The Martyrs Return to North America for Summer Rapture Tour

French deathcore heavyweights Betraying The Martyrs will return to American shores this summer for their first-ever headline tour of North America. The “Summer Rapture Tour 2019,” also featuring support from Entheos, Within Destruction, Sentinels and Defying Decay, will kick off on June 28 in Stanhope, N.J.

A Preview of What’s to Come On the “Summer Rapture Tour

We are beyond excited to cover US soil on our first full US headlining tour,” says vocalist Aaron Matts. “To be able to play a full energetic set to an audience that has been with us since day one is an absolute honor for us! Along with a stacked line-up of sick bands, we’re all stoked to get on the road! Come to a show and lose yourselves with us all, see you all in the pit!”

The band recently also announced a new partnership with Chris Adler‘s management company, Kintsugi Management and is working on a new album. Betraying The Martyrs will play new songs from the upcoming album for the very first time on this tour.

Kintsugi is proud to be working with Betraying The Martyrs,” Adler says. “I’m honestly excited to be working with a group of friends with a united vision. Betraying The Martyrs is doing something very special. It’s labeled metalcore because it’s easy to put every band in a box, but in this case, that is a mistake. They have taken time to study and have salvaged and fine-tuned all that I love in metal music. It’s an exciting time for the band. We believe in the guys and there’s an incredible new album soon to drop. The band continues to grow a dedicated, international fan base via their hard work, vision and brutally contagious music. The new Betraying The Martyrs album is going to change the game. I’m sincerely thrilled to be involved with a group of people that focus and deliver.”

Matts adds, “We are beyond excited to announce our collaboration with the legendary Chris Adler and Kintsugi Management. To be on board the same ship as Chris and his incredible team has breathed new life into what we do. Their backing support goes beyond anything we have known previously. It’s truly an honor. With our next release in the barrel and ready to be fired into the world, we could not be any more prepared for the road ahead. We announce our signature to Kintsugi with great pride.”

The Paris-based band’s last album, The Resilient, was released via Sumerian Records in 2017 and showcased a unique songwriting dynamic unrivalled within their genre. Followed by worldwide touring in support of the record, Betraying The Martyrs cemented their position as the European Kings of 21st Century Metal.

Enter to win two tickets to any show on the tour, special merchandise packs, a visit with the band on their tour bus and a soundcheck experience with Betraying The Martyrs HERE.

The 2014 sophomore album, Phantom, and its ensuing tours seasoned Betraying The Martyrs into a venerable freight-train of aggression with blazing harmonies, captivating hooks and bombastic off-time precision. Tickets are on-sale this Thursday, May 23, at 10 am local time.

Busse Woods, initially released via Frank Kozik’s Man’s Ruin label, still exudes the same sense of mysticism it did upon its 1999 debut. Lori and bandmates Joey Osbourne [drums] and Brian Hill [bass] entered a practice space to write the full-length follow-up to their debut Down with the Crown but behind the scenes, the band and its members were suffering through both professional and personal tumult. The chaotic backdrop led to limited promotion for Busse Woods with some of the songs never having been played live. Over the years, new generations of fans have discovered the album, earning it a reputation as a must-have for lovers of stoner and doom. Acid King returned in 2015 with Middle of Nowhere, Center of Everywhere, an album Stereogum placed in their Top 15 Metal Albums of the year, saying the collection is “a 53-minute celebration of a band at the height of its powers.”

Busse Woods is so potent that by the time you finish listening to opener ‘Electric Machine,’ your eyes are bloodshot.” – The Obelisk

September Mourning Launches U.S. Tour with Smile Empty Soul Next Week

September Mourning have been turning heads in the dark art and metal scenes for years, bringing a fusion of dark culture and fantasy based in the world of comic books to life on stage. Created by September Mourning frontwoman Emily Lazar and comic book legend Marc Silvestri, the comics “A Murder of Reapers” and “The Hand of Fate” (collectively “Volume I“, published by Top Cow/Image Comics) tell the tale of September, a human/reaper hybrid with no memory of her past. Empowered with supernatural gifts, she is driven to protect humanity from Fate and his Reapers.

In late 2018, September Mourning released the singles “Empire“, “Glass Animals” (video below), and the third chapter of their story, “Trinity“. “Nedal” Band OKILLY DOKILLY is Back! Kicking Off Reneducation Tour on February 1, 2019

Luckily it’s sweater weather outside, because you’ll want to don your best green during the Reneducation Tour! Phoenix, AZ’s Okilly Dokilly – the world’s only “Nedal” band – will kick off their tour on February 1, 2019 in San Diego, CA with openers Playboy Manbaby. The tour will visit several Western U.S. cities, coming to an end on March 2 in Austin, TX. Tickets are available now via individual venues or Okilly Dokilly‘s website. See below for all tour dates.

Bandleader Head Ned says: “We’re really excited about the Reneducation tour. We’ve got some new songs, new Neds, and some really great tour buddies in Playboy Manbaby. Our main mission with this tour is to thoroughly educate the masses on how to be the best Ned they can be. Us Neds can’t wait for Reneducation to begin.”

Okilly Dokilly Reneducation Tour

Okilly Dokilly, Phoenix’s self-professed “world’s first Nedal band,” have got you covered, kicking out righteous riffs while clad in the traditional green sweater, pink shirt, and nerdy glasses of Homer Simpson’s eternally cheerful and devoutly Christian neighbor.” – Peter Helman, Stereogum

Established in 2015, Okilly Dokilly found success before even playing their first show, reaching viral phenomenon status after releasing just a few press photos and a four-song demo. Within two weeks, the band netted nearly 30,000 Facebook fans and was featured by numerous publications including Billboard, Time, The Independent, BBC, Esquire, Rolling Stone, Vice and many more.

“My spell check is intent on correcting ‘Dokilly’ to ‘docilely’, but docile they are not, with their music revolving around crunchy, lo-fi guitar and shrill, lurching synth.” – Christopher Hooton, The Independent

In 2016, the band released their debut album Howdilly Doodilly (stream/order) – a 13-track catalog filled with Flanderisms, rushing guitars and more than enough left-handed puns. In the wake of this release, the bespectacled five-piece dropped the official music video for their single, “White Wine Spritzer“, which has garnered over four million views to date.

Now, the gentlemen of Okilly Dokilly – currently billed as Head Ned (vocals), Dread Ned (drums), Shred Ned (guitar), Bed Ned (bass) and Zed Ned (synth) – are looking forward to a 2019 follow up release to Howdilly Doodilly, details pending.

“Their sound… is solid, formulaic metal, with soft, almost classically-voiced verses slashed by the requisite screaming choruses. Let’s just say Homer Simpson might think twice about calling them “Stupid Flanders(es)” after hearing it.” – Steve Huff, Maxim

Melodic Metal Outfit THE CROWN REMNANT Reveals Guitar Playthrough Video for “Inferno”

Los Angeles-based five-piece The Crown Remnant recently announced the upcoming release of latest conceptual opus, The Wicked King: Part II, available for pre-order now via Amazon, iTunes, Google Play and Bandcamp. Pre-orders are available with “Inferno” as an instant-grat download. You can also pre-save the album via Spotify HERE. The Wicked King: Part II, takes the listener on a dramatic, energetic joyride from start to finish!

Today, The Crown Remnant have revealed a brand new guitar playthrough video for their latest single, “Inferno“. Watch the video, featuring the skills of guitarist Will Ash, now alongside an interview via PureGrainAudio.com‘s Geared Up HERE.

Will Ash tells PureGrainAudio.com: “We’re lucky to have the opportunity to record with some amazing gear. This latest record, Part II, and The Wicked King: Part I were both recorded with a blend of amazing guitars and amps including a Mesa Mark IV, Peavey 5150 (block letter), and more. Of the three main guitars used to track the record, this Schecter Hellraiser was my main lead guitar.”

You can now watch two additional new videos from The Crown Remnant, including a live footage music video for “Inferno“, as well as part one of the band’s behind-the-scenes track-by-track video series, detailing the album’s intro track, “Into the Depths“.

Behind-the-Scenes Part 1 – “Into the Depths

The Crown Remnant have mastered the art of melodic, theatrical, yet hard-hitting heavy metal, and the world is about to take notice. Combining a variety of metallic influences ranging from modern metalcore and prog, thrash and more, The Wicked King: Part II acts as the second part of the band’s previous release, The Wicked King: Part I. Within the first month of its release, The Crown Remnant garnered over 10,000 streams of their first single cut from The Wicked King: Part I, entitled “Haunted“. The band plans to follow suit and beyond with The Wicked King: Part II.

The Wicked King: Part II is loosely based on thematic concepts of oppression and tyranny. Originally recorded as one long album, the band decided to split it into two releases – with The Wicked King: Part II acting as the “darker” side of the two. Part II addresses tales of betrayal, mortality, exploring the afterlife and more. Intertwined within these ideals are scattered lyrics pertaining to the character designed on the front cover of the album: The Wicked King. He remains an everlasting shadow of a forgotten king set on immortality, with his insatiable lust for never-ending life.

The Wicked King: Part II was recorded in multiple studios throughout Southern California, with the help of S&W Audio, and producer/engineer Tyler Ruehl (Noble, At The Skylines, Taipan, Lion I Am). After a rigorous tracking process, the songs were mixed by Robin Leijon (In Dying Arms, Atena, Eternal Void).

The Crown Remnant will hit this road this winter for select tour dates! See below for a list of all confirmed tour stops.
