Los Angeles, CA – In anticipation of their long-awaited debut album, State of Mind, The Faim have unveiled the official music video for lead single, “Humans,” today. The cinematic offering dives into the world of science fiction while also highlighting a visually stunning band performance. The video follows the four-piece as they’re taken captive by a government organization and subjected to tests to determine if they are human or android. To escape, they’ll need the help of someone who’s more than human…watch all the action unfold HERE.
“Creating the music video for our latest single, ‘Humans,’ was our favorite shoot to date,” says Stephen Beerkens (bass/keys). “We worked with an amazing team in Los Angeles, who helped capture the entire video in just one day. The concept represents us searching for both our differences and the things we have in common, which also encapsulates the essence of the song: what it means to be human,” he explains.
Following the release of last year’s debut EP, Summer Is a Curse, The Faim wasted no time creating music for their first full-length effort, State of Mind, due on September 13 via BMG. Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mondo Cane) and renowned French composer Jean-Claude Vannier, share the final glimpse into their new album by way of the album track “Browning” ahead of the release of Corpse Flower (Ipecac Recordings, Sept 13). Listen to “Browning” HERE.
“Patton and Vannier prove to be a perfect match.” – 8/10 UNCUT
A variety of musicians, both in Los Angeles and Paris, took part in the recording of Corpse Flower with the Los Angeles team including Smokey Hormel (Beck, Johnny Cash), Justin Meldal-Johnsen (Beck, Air, Nine Inch Nails) and James Gadson (Beck, Jamie Lidell). The Parisian players are Denys Lable, Bernard Paganotti (Magma), Daniel Ciampolini, Didier Malherbe, Léonard Le Cloarec and the Bécon Palace String Ensemble. The lyrics for “Ballad C.3.3.” are drawn from Oscar Wilde’s “The Ballad of Reading Gaol” poem, which was initially published using the name C.3.3.
Corpse Flower is available now for pre-orders HERE, including special embossed versions featuring Kenro Izu’s stunning cover photo. The album will be available on 180gram colored vinyl, a CD digipak and digitally.
“With seemingly no end of ambrosial atmospherics and devilish sense of humour, Corpse Flower is sophisticated, adventurous pop music. Seductive and opulent, it also delights in being crass. As proud of its stench as it is of its blooms, the record is perfectly framed.” – 5* RECORD COLLECTOR

Progressive metal’s sensational shred quartet Sifting have revealed a new music video and single for the song “Stop Calling Me Liberty.” The video was directed by Zach Perez at Astral Media. Watch it HERE.
“‘Stop Calling Me Liberty‘ is a song we wrote about The Statue of Liberty.” states front man Eduardo Osuna Gil. “Every day our country is pushed further apart, divided by the partisan politics and nothing gets done for the people. I often think about the Statue of Liberty and how she is a magnificent symbol of liberty and unification watching over our country from Liberty Island. If she could speak to us today, what would she say? I don’t really think she would be pleased. I think she’d be pretty damn pissed off.”
Sifting will release The Infinite Loop on September 27, 2019. The album is a masterpiece of progressive metal featuring 70 minutes of mind-blowing Jedi-like musicianship. It was produced by Steve Evetts (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Suicide Silence, Poison the Well), mixed by Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me, The Contortionist), and features a special guest performance by Derek Sherinian (Sons of Apollo, Dream Theater).
The band previously revealed a music video from the album for the first single “A Critical Affair,” which surpassed 100,000 views on YouTube in just 2 weeks. “A Critical Affair” was directed by Alejandro Fumero Gil. Watch it HERE.
Providence, Rhode Island-based modern metalcore upstarts Absence of Despair have made waves in the scene since their formation in 2008, but are set for national acclaim with their brand new album, Desolate, scheduled for release on September 13, 2019. The album features 12 brand new, heavy-hitting anthems that showcase this hard working up-and-coming band’s undeniable raw talent. Ripping, intense metal grooves blended with addictive hooks poise Absence of Despair‘s Desolate as an undeniable metalcore favorite of 2019.
Desolate pre-orders are available here via the band’s website, and will be available via all digital retailers very soon.
Today, Absence of Despair are thrilled to reveal the first single cut from their upcoming album, entitled “Bite My Tongue”. Fans can witness the brand new, high octane music video for the headbang-inducing track now:
Watch New Music Video for “Bite My Tongue”
The “Bite My Tongue” video was shot by Matty LaBonte of Crown Media Collective.
Bassist Rob Bryant says:“The main concept of the video is to not be taken over by anxiety, but to overcome, and breakthrough it. Crown Media Collective did a fantastic job on the video. They were able to purge the anxiety concept well with the static televisions placed around us.”
Desolate immediately bursts into a brutal assault of fast-paced grooves on the album’s opener, “ESC”, and continues to traverse a melodic-yet-darkened metalcore landscape on tracks like “Bite My Tongue” and “Godkiller”. Anthemic tracks such as “Fearless” and “This Reckoning” solidify the band’s keen ability to write unforgettable hooks without sacrificing sinister riffage, while “Lost & Hopeless” provides an example of Absence of Despair‘s more extreme side. Beyond these tracks, there’s even more to love on Desolate.
Vocalist Joe Reynolds says: “Desolate is focused on gaining the strength to look at obstacles in your life and overcome them. Each song represents a different side or emotion of a person and tells the story of what’s going through their head. At the end of the day, we want the listener to find meaning in themselves and the world around them.”
Desolate was recorded, mixed and mastered by Josh Schroeder (For The Fallen Dreams, King 810, The Color Morale) at Random Awesome Studios in Midland, Michigan.
Bassist Rob Bryant says:“Josh Schroeder really brought possibilities to light for us musically, helped shape the songs the way we needed them to be, and brought us out of our comfort zone. He pushed us, and helped us push ourselves into creating what we feel is our most dynamic and heavy hitting project yet.”
Desolate Track Listing:
1) ESC 2) Bite My Tongue 3) Wild 4) Godkiller 5) Fearless 6) Lost & Hopeless 7) This Reckoning 8) Die Primitive 9) Shadowbreaker 10) I Am Catastrophe 11) The Skin We Live In 12) Pathwalker
Absence of Despair will perform at the Providence, Rhode Island date of the Summer Slaughter tour, taking place on August 2 at Fete Music Hall. For more information, visit this link. The band is currently booking fall tour dates in support of Desolate.
Absence of Despair endorses Fishman, GHS Strings, Empire Ears, Coldcock Whiskey, InTune Guitar Picks and Sennheiser.

Los Angeles, CA — The Faim have shared “Humans,” the first single from their forthcoming debut album, State of Mind, which will be released on Friday, September 13 via BMG. The track was produced with Patrick Morrisey (Weezer, Pharrell, Hayley Kiyoko) and David Dahlquist (Aurora, Fletcher) in New York and Los Angeles, and includes a great balance of unique pop-rock sounds, rounded out with lush live band elements and a massive, resonant chorus. Stream and download “Humans” HERE, and pre-order/pre-save State of MindHERE.
“ ‘Humans’ is about embracing the unique qualities that make up who we are, from our individual character and personality traits, to our strengths and weaknesses. These diverse characteristics, and how they evolve throughout our lives, show us what it means to be human and how connected we all actually are,” the band explains.
The Faim unveiled their debut EP, Summer Is a Curse, last year and wasted no time creating music for their first full-length effort, State of Mind. Over the course of two years, the group worked with numerous writers and producers to craft a collection of songs that showcase a vast range of styles and tones. The tracks, recorded mostly in Los Angeles in various studios, reveal how The Faim has evolved since their inception. The lyrics come from emotions or experiences personal to the musicians as a whole, with each song centering on an idea that’s relatable to both themselves and their listeners. Overall, State of Mind reveals a band on the rise, and a group of artists who are all about making genuine songs that bring people together and create a community.
“We write from an honest place, and that’s something we always want to stay true to,” says frontman, Josh Raven. “It has to resonate with us for it be relatable to our fans. On this album it was about connecting with ourselves and exploring our influences and our own talent. If we stick to who we are and what we feel, hopefully everyone else will find something in the music too,” he elaborates.
State of Mind includes eight brand new tracks in addition to previously-released singles“Summer Is a Curse” and “Amelie.” If you were able to catch The Faim on tour earlier this year, you may have also heard them play “Beautiful Drama” and “Infamous,” two additional standout songs on the album. The complete track listing can be found below.
State of Mind Track Listing:
1. Tongue Tied 2. Humans 3. Summer Is a Curse 4. Beautiful Drama 5. Buying Time 6. Infamous 7. Amelie 8. Words Apart 9. Where the River Runs 10. State of Mind
About The Faim:
Over the past year, The Faim has built up a strong following around the world, from Australia to Europe to the States. They’ve performed at Download Festival, Slam Dunk, and Reading & Leeds, and toured with PVRIS, Against the Current, Sleeping With Sirens, and Andy Black. In 2018, The Faim performed 100 shows across three continents and 13 countries, while in 2019 the band embarked on their first headline tour, selling out shows in cities like London, Sydney, Amsterdam, and Hamburg. “Summer Is a Curse” has become a bona fide hit Germany, hitting No. 12 on the airplay charts after being played 24,000 times on German radio in 2018. The track, which appears in a Jeep commercial in France, hit No. 2 at radio in the Czech Republic. The group also scored the soundtrack to Coca-Cola’s global advertising campaign for Coke Zero, which was shown in 18 countries worldwide.

Miami, FL – Torche reveal a third track “Admission” (July 12, Relapse Records), debuting the album’s title track via BillboardHERE.
“This is a song where the music and the lyrics are a perfect match,” explains guitar player Jon Nunez in the accompanying article. “It’s as if they were meant to go together. What I was going through at the time really came through in the song, and the music I gave Steve definitely brought out some rather painful emotions for him [regarding] losing loved ones and the process you go through after. You could even hear a quiver in Steve’s voice, and it was like, ‘Wow, this is something we haven’t done before.’ Steve tends to be really secretive with his lyrics. He needed a little bit of a push, but I think deep down inside he wanted to get this off his chest.”
The band has given two previous previews of music from the 11-song album with streams of the songs “Slide” and “Times Missing”. The trio of tracks are available as instant downloads with digital pre-orders. Admission is available in various formats (CD/LP/CS/Digital) with several limited edition vinyl versions already sold out. More information can be found via Relapse’s webstore. Admission’s cover art was created by Richard Vergez, a Cuban-American visual artist, whose work has been shown at No Romance Galleries (TriBeCa), Urban Arts Society (Chicago) and Kids of Dada (London).
Torche released their fourth album, and Relapse Records’ debut, Restarter in 2015. The collection found the band on most year-end best of lists with Entertainment Weekly describing the album as “gloriously fuzzy, sludgy, hard-hitting” and calling the band members “four of loud rock’s most adroit genre-benders.”The Washington Post called Restarter “otherworldly” and the Chicago Tribune saying “Torche’s music connects muscle, songcraft and drive in a way that few bands of recent vintage can match.”

Los Angeles, CA — Simple Creatures, comprised of long-time friends Mark Hoppus (blink-182) and Alex Gaskarth (All Time Low), release a new track, “Special” today. The first offering from EP2 (due out later this year) was produced by Zakk Cervini, and is available to download HERE.
The band will make their highly anticipated festival debut this Saturday, headlining the “Avalanche” stage at Download Festival in the U.K. after playing a few intimate club shows earlier this year in a few select cities across the U.S. and in London.
Mark and Alex released their debut EP, Strange Love, in March.
Simple Creatures evolved from a long-standing friendship and a musical kinship. Hoppus and Gaskarth took a beat from their individual bands to have some fun in the studio, and came away with a new band with a new sound.
“On paper, this collaboration between two of pop-punk’s most recognizable and commercially powerful songwriters should have proved entirely predictable – a crush of pit-friendly anthems and surging riffola. Except their latest out is anything but. The first single, ‘Drug’… an explosive rush of heavy-hearted pop that clatters and crackles with programmed drum breaks, scuzzy guitars and skittering melodies, with both singers sharing vocal duties,” wrote Kerrang!
