Emerging Modern Metal Outfit Absence of Despair to Release New Album, “Desolate”, on 9-13-19

Providence, Rhode Island-based modern metalcore upstarts Absence of Despair have made waves in the scene since their formation in 2008, but are set for national acclaim with their brand new album, Desolate, scheduled for release on September 13, 2019. The album features 12 brand new, heavy-hitting anthems that showcase this hard working up-and-coming band’s undeniable raw talent. Ripping, intense metal grooves blended with addictive hooks poise Absence of Despair‘s Desolate as an undeniable metalcore favorite of 2019.

Desolate pre-orders are available here via the band’s website, and will be available via all digital retailers very soon.

Today, Absence of Despair are thrilled to reveal the first single cut from their upcoming album, entitled “Bite My Tongue”. Fans can witness the brand new, high octane music video for the headbang-inducing track now:

Watch New Music Video for “Bite My Tongue”

The “Bite My Tongue” video was shot by Matty LaBonte of Crown Media Collective.

Bassist Rob Bryant says:“The main concept of the video is to not be taken over by anxiety, but to overcome, and breakthrough it. Crown Media Collective did a fantastic job on the video. They were able to purge the anxiety concept well with the static televisions placed around us.”

Desolate immediately bursts into a brutal assault of fast-paced grooves on the album’s opener, “ESC”, and continues to traverse a melodic-yet-darkened metalcore landscape on tracks like “Bite My Tongue” and “Godkiller”. Anthemic tracks such as “Fearless” and “This Reckoning” solidify the band’s keen ability to write unforgettable hooks without sacrificing sinister riffage, while “Lost & Hopeless” provides an example of Absence of Despair‘s more extreme side. Beyond these tracks, there’s even more to love on Desolate.

Vocalist Joe Reynolds says: Desolate is focused on gaining the strength to look at obstacles in your life and overcome them. Each song represents a different side or emotion of a person and tells the story of what’s going through their head. At the end of the day, we want the listener to find meaning in themselves and the world around them.”

Desolate was recorded, mixed and mastered by Josh Schroeder (For The Fallen Dreams, King 810, The Color Morale) at Random Awesome Studios in Midland, Michigan.

Bassist Rob Bryant says:“Josh Schroeder really brought possibilities to light for us musically, helped shape the songs the way we needed them to be, and brought us out of our comfort zone. He pushed us, and helped us push ourselves into creating what we feel is our most dynamic and heavy hitting project yet.”

Desolate Track Listing:

1) ESC
2) Bite My Tongue
3) Wild
4) Godkiller
5) Fearless
6) Lost & Hopeless
7) This Reckoning
8) Die Primitive

The Faim Reveal New Single, “Humans,” from Upcoming Debut Album

First Full-length Record, State of Mind,
to Be Released September 13 via BMG

Los Angeles, CA — The Faim have shared “Humans,” the first single from their forthcoming debut album, State of Mind, which will be released on Friday, September 13 via BMG. The track was produced with Patrick Morrisey (Weezer, Pharrell, Hayley Kiyoko) and David Dahlquist (Aurora, Fletcher) in New York and Los Angeles, and includes a great balance of unique pop-rock sounds, rounded out with lush live band elements and a massive, resonant chorus. Stream and download “Humans” HERE, and pre-order/pre-save State of Mind HERE.

“ ‘Humans’ is about embracing the unique qualities that make up who we are, from our individual character and personality traits, to our strengths and weaknesses. These diverse characteristics, and how they evolve throughout our lives, show us what it means to be human and how connected we all actually are,” the band explains.

The Faim unveiled their debut EP, Summer Is a Curse, last year and wasted no time creating music for their first full-length effort, State of Mind. Over the course of two years, the group worked with numerous writers and producers to craft a collection of songs that showcase a vast range of styles and tones. The tracks, recorded mostly in Los Angeles in various studios, reveal how The Faim has evolved since their inception. The lyrics come from emotions or experiences personal to the musicians as a whole, with each song centering on an idea that’s relatable to both themselves and their listeners. Overall, State of Mind reveals a band on the rise, and a group of artists who are all about making genuine songs that bring people together and create a community.

“We write from an honest place, and that’s something we always want to stay true to,” says frontman, Josh Raven. “It has to resonate with us for it be relatable to our fans. On this album it was about connecting with ourselves and exploring our influences and our own talent. If we stick to who we are and what we feel, hopefully everyone else will find something in the music too,” he elaborates.

State of Mind album artwork

Betraying the Martyrs Forced to Cancel Remaining North American Tour Dates Due to Van Accident and Fire

BETRAYING THE MARTYRS has been forced to cancel the rest of their North American Summer “Rapture” tour, including last night’s show in Orangevale, CA, after being involved in a serious auto incident following their show in Los Angeles.

All crew and band members are safe.

The incident happened around 4 a.m. when the trailer portion of the band’s Mercedes Sprinter van caught fire. All band and crew members were able to safely to exit the vehicle with no major injuries. Tragically, all of the band’s equipment was lost in the blaze.

Singer Aaron Matts commented on the scene, “We’re all shaken by what has happened this morning. We’re well but very heartbroken that all we have worked hard to accumulate over the years, both in musical equipment and personal belongings, has been lost in a matter of minutes. I’m grateful that we have our health, each other and were able to walk away with the clothes on our backs. We are extremely sorry to have missed another opportunity to play for those that were looking forward to see us. We’ll bounce back and we’ll see you soon. Thank you.”

Guitarist Baptiste Vigier also added: “This is the most tragic event that has ever happened in our band’s career, and in my entire life. Earlier this morning, I was awakened by our driver screaming and urging us all to get out of the vehicle. Although I’m incredibly thankful to still be alive and tell this story, I lost all my gear and personal belongings. We feel incredibly powerless and in shock.”

A GoFundMe has been set up to help the BETRAYING THE MARTYRS
replace the items lost in the fire.

Visit GoFundMe to donate.

ANY donation will be incredibly helpful to all of us and will go directly towards rebuilding our band, to help us get back home and ultimately to keep doing what we love, which is creating music and sharing it with our fans,” the band says. “If you’ve ever had the chance to catch BTM live, if you know the band or simply follow what we do, if you’ve shared the stage with us, if you’ve ever listened to or streamed our music, we’re asking for your help.”

The band also adds, “There is absolutely no way we could thank enough, our driver and new best friend Daniel Johnson. This man literally ran into the flames in an attempt to salvage our belongings and to ensure our safety and well-being. Daniel acted out of pure courage and professionalism in order for the band and crew to be safe and at a lower risk of injury. Whatever we have left after this, we owe it to you Daniel. A part of potential funds raised will be going to Daniel to compensate for his courage and for his belongings lost.

Band manager Chris Adler of Kinsugi Management
posted the following video of the fire:

Below is a list of items that were lost:

• Splitter

• In Ears Monitors System x 4

• Most of their Merchandising

• 1 Furman power conditioner

• 4 keyboards

• Shock mount racks units

• 1 Helix
• AxeFX

• 6 guitar cases

• All personal belongings and suitcases

• A full Midas Mixing Desk and its case

• A full drum kit

• The whole brand new trailer

The tour will continue with Within Destruction and Sentinels. “We encourage you to come support our tour brothers that we must unfortunately leave,” says the band. “Show them some love too.

About GLORYHAMMER

GLORYHAMMER were founded by Alestorm frontman Christopher Bowes in 2009, who spent the next years gathering an international line-up that suited his idea to create a band based conceptually on the fantasy genre and musically fitting generally into the power metal mold. Both aims were achieved stunningly and their debut album, Tales from the Kingdom of Fife released by Napalm Records in 2013 immediately garnered the band high critical acclaim from critics and fans alike. GLORYHAMMER were able to top this success with their second full-length Space 1992: Rise of the Chaos Wizards (2015) and have continued to tour in front of ever growing audiences, performed at all major metal festivals, and have by now been nominated twice by German Metal Hammer as best band in the category “Up & Coming” at the Metal Hammer Awards.

Explosive Pop-Rock Group THE FAIM Coming to The Nile Theater on 4-14-19

Rapidly rising pop-rock group The Faim is currently supporting Black Veil Brides’ frontman, Andy Black, on his solo headline run through North America. They recently shared a brand new song,Amelie,” in anticipation of their forthcoming debut album, which is due in September. On The Faim’s first ever headline tour of Europe and Australia earlier this year, the majority of shows sold out completely or were upgraded due to popular demand.

Burning Hot Events reviewed The Faim’s concert at Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix last December, and to say that we were impressed is an understatement. We popped into their performance in Seattle last Tuesday (photos below), and the band seemed to exude even higher energy and cohesive connection with the crowd than before — promising a killer experience at The Nile Theater in Mesa next Sunday!
