Foreigner, Kansas, and Europe Set To Launch Juke Box Heroes 2020 Tour

I Want To Know What Love Is,” “Cold As Ice,” “Hot Blooded,” “Juke Box Hero,” “Urgent,” “Dust In The Wind,” “Carry on Wayward Son,” “Point of Know Return,” “The Final Countdown,”  “Carrie”…

…These are some of the iconic songs of summer by rock’s ultimate “Juke Box Heroes”. Legendary band Foreigner, with special guest Kansas and featuring Europe, will bring these hits to your city this summer with the Juke Box Heroes 2020 Tour.

Set to launch in Albuquerque, NM on July 9th, and presented by Live Nation, these acclaimed artists will join for unforgettable nights of night of rock ’n’ roll. Tickets go on sale January 17, 2020 at 10am local time at HERE. Full tour dates can be found below.

Foreigner

With 10 multi-platinum albums and 16 Top 30 hits, Foreigner is universally hailed as one of the most popular rock acts in the world with a formidable musical arsenal that continues to propel sold-out tours and album sales, now exceeding 80 million. Responsible for some of rock and roll’s most enduring anthems including: “Juke Box Hero,” “Cold As Ice,” “Hot Blooded,” “Waiting For A Girl Like You,” “Feels Like The First Time,” “Urgent,” “Head Games,” “Say You Will,” “Dirty White Boy,” “Long, Long Way From Home” and the worldwide #1 hit, “I Want To Know What Love Is.”

Foreigner still rocks the charts more than 40 years into the game with massive airplay and continued Billboard Top 200 album success. Foreigner’s November 2019 release of Double Vision, Then & Now is a DVD/CD (or Blu-ray/CD) package that celebrates the 40th anniversary of Foreigner’s iconic album.  It features a stunning reunion concert that brings together the current and original band members playing all the hits at the top of their game.

2020 will kick off with a three-day run at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra in mid January.  Another highlight forthcoming is a residency at The Venetian, Las Vegas which kicks off on January 24, 2020.

“We can’t wait to hit the road with our good friends Kansas and Europe and bring all our biggest hits to cities across the country,” says Foreigner founding member, songwriter and lead guitarist Mick Jones. “We always have such a good time together, and combined we share some of the greatest songs in rock and roll. We are so excited to see our fans from coast to coast, and plan to make this summer our most epic tour yet!”

Kansas

With a legendary career spanning more than four decades, Kansas has firmly established itself as one of America’s iconic classic rock bands. This “garage band” from Topeka released their debut album in 1974 after being discovered by Wally Gold, who worked for Don Kirshner, and have gone on to sell more than 30 million albums worldwide.

Composing a catalogue that includes fifteen studio albums and five live albums, Kansas has produced eight gold albums, three sextuple-platinum albums (Leftoverture, Point of Know Return, Best of Kansas), one platinum live album (Two for the Show), and two one million-selling gold singles, “Carry On Wayward Son” and “Dust in the Wind.”

Kansas appeared on the Billboard charts for over 200 weeks throughout the ‘70’s and ‘80’s and played to sold-out arenas and stadiums throughout North America, Europe and Japan. “Carry On Wayward Son” continues to be one of the top five most played songs on classic rock radio, and “Dust In the Wind” has been played on the radio more than three million times. Last month “Carry On Wayward Son” was certified as a 4x Platinum-selling single, and “Dust In the Wind” was certified as a 3x Platinum-selling single by RIAA. Continuing to write their legacy, Kansas will be releasing their 16th studio album in the summer of 2020.

Says Kansas, “We look forward to touring with Foreigner. It has been nearly ten years since both bands have done a full tour together. That run was a blast, and we are excited to get started this summer. The bands and the crews get along great, and we’ll all be working tougher to perform an exceptional show for the fans.”

Europe

With over three decades and dozens of millions albums sold, including a number one hit in 25 countries, Europe’s Joey Tempest (vocals), John Norum (guitars), Mic Michaeli (keyboards), John Leven (bass) and Ian Haugland (drums) are as hardworking as ever, annually performing concerts worldwide and producing new albums that are critically acclaimed by fans and the music industry alike.

Their eleventh studio album, Walk The Earth, was released October 20, 2017 on Hell & Back Recordings (Silver Lining Music). It was recorded at famed Abbey Road Studios in London with Grammy® Award-winning producer Dave Cobb (Rival Sons, Shooter Jennings, Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton) and won a Swedish Grammy for Best Album.

“The band is super thrilled that this summer, we’ll be back in the USA… the birthplace of rock and roll,” says Europe’s Joey Tempest. “It’s been four long years and we are honored to be on the road with Foreigner and Kansas for this extensive tour across North America. Strap yourself in! Europe in America once again!”

Since 2015, Halsey has amassed over 25 billion streams worldwide and sold more than 11 million adjusted albums globally. She has played sold out dates on five continents (including New York City’s Madison Square Garden), been nominated for a GRAMMY® and appeared on a wide variety of magazine covers, including Rolling Stone, Cosmopolitan, NYLON, Forbes, Playboy and Billboard. Her 2015 debut album, BADLANDS, was certified Platinum by the RIAA within one year of its release. Halsey claimed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 with 2017’s Platinum-certified hopeless fountain kingdom, which contained such hits as the 2x PlatinumNow or Never” and the 4x PlatinumBad at Love.” Watch “Bad At LoveHERE.

The success of the 6x PlatinumWithout Me” has made Halsey the first and only female artist to have at least three songs chart on the Billboard Hot 100 for 50 weeks each. Rounding out the trio of songs are the 4x PlatinumEastside,” her collaboration with Benny Blanco and Khalid, and The Chainsmokers11x PlatinumCloser,” which she featured on. “Without Me,” which took Favorite Song, Pop/Rock honors at the American Music Awards, spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100 in early 2019, marking her first solo single to reach the top spot. It now ranks as the longest-running Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hit by a female artist of this century. She is the first artist to rank at Nos. 1 and 2 simultaneously on Billboard’s Hot 100 Pop Songs radio airplay chart. In March 2019, Halsey became the first artist in history to replace herself at No. 1 twice on the U.S. Pop Songs Airplay chart when “Without Me” returned to No. 1, bumping “Eastside” from the top spot. “Without Me” was the most-played song of 2019 at U.S. radio. She featured on BTS’ Platinum hit, “Boy With Luv,” and, more recently, alongside Future on “Die for Me,” a track from Post Malone’s new album.

Halsey continues to push creative boundaries, expanding her influence and impact beyond music. After making her film debut in the animated 2018 summer movie Teen Titans GO! as the voice of Wonder Woman, she was seen in A Star is Born, starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga. She continues to use her voice to speak up for causes she passionately believes in, including disenfranchised youth, women’s rights, mental health and the LGBTQ community. GLAAD honored her in 2018 as “Outstanding Music Artist.” In 2019, she has won an AMA, the Hal David Starlight Award, presented by the Songwriters Hall of Fame, a VMA and two Teen Choice Awards.

Death Valley High Reveals New Surprise Single and Video

To celebrate tonight’s tour kick-off, horror obsessed provocateurs Death Valley High have surprised fans with a new song, “Raise Hell,” available today. Watch the video for the track now via Revolver HERE.

“I got sick of hearing the misuse of the term ‘witch hunt’ and the ignorance just throwing it around. I started to imagine a scenario bridging physical and metaphysical uproar,” says frontman Reyka Osburn. “‘Raise hell’ usually means to rebel rouse, but in this instance, I actually mean to devil rouse.”

The “Raise Hell” single is currently available exclusively via Bandcamp HERE.

Death Valley High begins a nine-date west coast tour with electro-industrial outfit Silver Snakes tonight in San Francisco.

Death Valley High released a new EP entitled Duel this past summer via Minus Head Records. The band has described Duel as a sort of modern-day mix tape that defies the rules of a conventional release. While the first half of the record features covers, the latter half is an offering of intense remixes, lending to the record’s name. Each song on Duel features a special guest, including Chino Moreno (Deftones), Spirit in the Room, Chris Connelly and more, each of whom was challenged – along with Death Valley High themselves – to venture outside of their comfort zone.

Check out the video for the Christian Death cover “Cavity – First Communion,” featuring Chino Moreno HERE.

Swerving between the sarcastic and the saccharine, Death Valley High deliver doom pop and death disco of the highest order. Outburn heralded them as the “New Face of Goth Rock,” while UK tastemaker Kerrang! advised fans of Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails to take note. But where most macabre music-makers craft anthems for the grave, Death Valley High make songs to wake the dead. These guys don’t dwell in melancholy; this is a funeral procession to dance to. Universal monsters, Hammer films and haunted houses collide within their sonic psyche, earning them coveted spots on tours with likeminded rabble-rousers like Killing Joke, Combichrist, Crosses, Powerman 5000, and Orgy. Death Valley High turns convention on its head, with unapologetic distaste for conformity and a tongue-in-cheek whimsy. Death Valley High is unmistakably important, conjuring New Romantic majesty for the modern age.

Lamb of God Guitarist Mark Morton to Release New Solo EP, “Ether,” in January

Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton returns in 2020 with his second solo offering, entitled Ether, a primarily acoustic five-song EP scheduled for release in January via Rise Records/BMG.

As with Morton’s solo debut, Anesthetic, released earlier this year, the guitarist enlisted the talents of various musicians and vocalists to bring his songs to life. Ether features appearances by Lzzy Hale (Halestorm), Howard Jones (Killswitch Engage, Light the Torch), John Carbone (Moon Tooth) and Mark Morales (Sons of Texas), who is also a member of Morton’s live band. The EP is made up of three original songs and two covers that once again showcase Morton’s diversity as a musician.

Says Mark Morton, “I’m thrilled to announce the upcoming release of my new, five song EP, ‘Ether,‘ on Rise Records! Once again, I’ve had the great pleasure of working with some amazingly talented artists and friends to assemble this collection of tunes, all of which feature a strong acoustic guitar component. Inspired by the acoustic sets I had the opportunity to perform last spring and summer in support of ‘Anesthetic,‘ I began writing some new songs to reflect that more mellow vibe. I’m stoked with the results and I can’t wait for everyone to hear what we’ve been putting together. I’ll be debuting these tunes on my upcoming U.K. acoustic tour, so you can hear them live before they’re released anywhere else!”

“I continue to be honored to have the chance to work with so many incredibly talented people and I remain beyond grateful to the fans that have come along with me and supported these projects. Thanks so much everyone!”

First single from Ether, “All I Had to Lose” featuring Mark Morales, will be released January 10.

Ether was produced and mixed by Josh Wilbur (Lamb of God, Gojira, Trivium).

Mark Morton Ether EP Cover

Ether Tracklisting:

  1. All I Had To Lose (featuring) Mark Morales
  2. The Fight (featuring John Carbone)
  3. She Talks To Angels (featuring Lzzy Hale)
  4. Love My Enemy (featuring Howard Jones)
  5. Black (featuring Mark Morales)

Tour

Following his first UK acoustic performance at the Download festival earlier this year, Mark Morton will return for a handful of special and intimate acoustic shows in January 2020.

Mark Morton comments, “We had such an amazing time with the acoustic set at Download and I’m really looking forward to expanding on that experience with these upcoming shows. Joining me once again will be Mark Morales on vocals and guitarist extraordinaire, Joe Harvatt. I can’t wait to make each show extra special for you all with an evening of stories, acoustic versions of many of the songs from Anesthetic, and a few covers of some of our favorite tunes. We’ll also be debuting some new original material as well! Look forward to seeing you all!”

Mark Morton UK tour dates:

  • 1/8 – Bristol, UK @ Thekla
  • 1/9 – Manchester, UK @ Academy 3
  • 1/10 – Glasgow, UK @ Cathouse

Maroon 5’s New Hit Single “Memories” Out Now – #1 on Hot AC

The band’s tour announcement follows the debut of their most recent single, “Memories” (222 Records/ Interscope Records).  The release of “Memories”marks the first new music from the Los Angeles band since the release of their global anthem “Girls Like You.” Produced by Adam Levine and The Monsters & Strangerz and Executive Produced by Jacob “J Kash” Hindlin, “Memories” marks a moment of creative and personal progression for the musicians. The minimalist ballad starkly pairs a lilting clean guitar with chantable and evocative lyrics from Levine. In addition to representing another sonic side, it tackles uncharted subject matter for the group— namely loss—but from a different angle.

Following its release, “Memories” quickly claimed Maroon 5’s 22nd appearance on Billboard Hot 100’s Top 40. The track is currently holding at peak position #4 on Billboard Hot 100 chart, their 10th Top 5, and their 12th Top 10 this decade; that includes at least one new song sent into the Top 10 each year since 2011. The track just reached #1 on Billboard Hot AC chart, their 14th #1 which is the most by any act. The David Dobkin directed music video has garnered over 185 million views on Youtube; pushing their video catalog to 12 BILLION views across all official channels on YouTube.
